MATLAB programmin​g workshop

Dear Undergraduate and Graduate ISE students,

MSU INFORMS Student Chapter is organizing a Workshop on MATLAB programming on Thursday November 1^st at 4:00 pm in the third floor computer lab in McCain (room 360). A tentative outline of the presentation is as follows:

[1] Introduction to MATLAB programming (Basic operations, data types, functions etc)

[2] Graphics plotting 2D and 3D

[3] Numerical computations

[4] Encoding solution techniques for discrete optimization search problem in MATLAB.

Presenter: Mr. Seyedmohsen Hosseini, PhD Student, Industrial & Systems Engineering department, Mississippi State University.

Online options for Academic Integrity Week: October 29 - November 2

Academic Integrity Week will be October 29-November 2.  This will be a campus-wide event, with units across campus sponsoring programming in support of academic integrity and research ethics.

The MSU Libraries will participate in this event and our activities are open to both on campus and distance users!  We are hosting two workshops:

Keeping It Honest! Avoiding Plagiarism in Your Papers

INFORMS Seminar March 22

Huseyin Tunc will be holding a seminar that focuses on single-item, periodic review, and stochastic dynamic inventory control problems, particularly on a replenishment cycle control rule known as the R.S. Policy. The R.S. Policy will be examined from multiple perspectives. He will also show that non-stationary R.S. Policies are indispensable due to their cost efficiency, effectiveness, and practicality.

Please join us to support Huseyin in the presentation of his research. The seminar will be held on Thursday, March 22 in McCain 105 at 4:30 p.m.

MSU informs will be having a pot luck for anyone interested in attending at Ackerman Choctaw Lake Pavilion on Saturday March 10th. The pot luck begins at 11:00am. So, bring your favorite dish, and meet us for lunch!

New Workshop: Modeling and Optimization with GAMS

Tuesday February 28th at 4:30pm in McCain 360.

Join INFORMS for the next workshop. This workshop will be demonstrating the capabilities of the software GAMS, as well as some problem solving of basic supply chain network problems. Examples of real world solutions will also be discussed.
