Latex Technical Session

Dear ISE students (Undergraduate and Graduate),

MSU INFORMS Student Chapter is organizing a technical session on Monday (November 25th) from 3.30 to 5.00 pm in Room 180 (just outside the ISE office). Mohammad Marufuzzaman (PhD student, ISE) is the speaker of the session. He will take a journal paper template with every varieties of information (text, table, figures, bibliography, etc.) that are usually included in a paper and demonstrate step by step how to prepare that document. This software is specialized for technical writing and creates much better quality documents than MS Word or equivalent. Also, you can use user interfaces like Lyx on top of latex for convenience.

You will need to come with your own laptop with any of the Latex packages installed in it if you want to acquire the full benefit from the session. You can still come and watch the presentation without a laptop. Following are some links to download and install Latex packages. Attached is the paper template and other files that the speaker will be using.

We will provide some light refreshments. We hope to see you there.

Thanks,
